Q. Why do I need to register for a Membership account
before registering for SalatPagerSM?
In an effort to simplify managing all Jannah.com personalized
features, having a Membership account makes it easier to
manage all these features, including SalatPager.
Q. My prayer alerts are not accurate. Is there a reason
for this?
A: Yes. mathematical formulas are used to calculate prayer
times. Those formulas are not perfect. There are some factors
that contribute to the accuracy of actual prayer times in your
city:
1. your elevation: which changes the times of prayers in your
city.
2. your longitude and latitude: the formulas' calculations become
severely off as you go higher in latitude.
Q. I do not get the alert on time, even though the prayer
time in the alert is correct
A: Although SalatPagerSM software
generates your alert and sends it at the correct prayer
time, the delivery of it to your wireless device is outside
the control of SalatPagerSM
software. Delivery is mostly governed by your wireless service
provider's network, network load, network area coverage, and
your existence in the coverage area at time of delivery, among
other factors.
Q. I signed up and entered the right wireless device email, but
did not recieve the activation code.
A: The most common reason for this is that your wireless device's
service plan does not include text messages (a.k.a. SMS, or
wireless web.) The best way to resolve this is to talk to your
wireless service provider, and ask them whether
you can recieve messages or alerts via your device's email address.
Q. Why is it required in the first place to have the activation
step?
A: this ensures many things:
1. You entered the correct wireless device email address. If
you suspect the device's email is not right or has changed by
the service provider, you can change it as many times as you
like here
2. It protects you from having someone else using your wireless
device's information to register for the service.
3. It ensures SalatPagerSM
software is serving accounts that are fully functional. Sending
bogus alerts taxes our servers.
Q. I was receiving alerts properly, then it suddenly stopped.
Why is that?
A: Many reasons could be at play
1. Your SalatPagerSM service
has expired (check
you account information here.)
2. Your alloted number of messages set by your
wireless service provider has been used up. Many service
providers have different plans that offer limited or unlimited
number of messages per month. Check with your provider to help
resolve such problem.
