He reflects upon his experiences with the ummah over the years and describes how it became apparent to him that Muslims today are neglecting this traditional virtue, thereby causing widespread agitation and insecurity. Whereas previous generations cultivated ridaa to their own success, we seem to be neglecting it to our own demise. Sheikh Murad probes the matter in depth to show us how the lack of ridaa in our lives can lead to serious defects in our character such as self-righteousness, anger, and being suspicious of others. The more widespread effect is an ummah lacking direction, unity and, as a result, influence on the world stage. This important talk provides the necessary perspective for surviving the world crisis which Muslims face today.
