What are Digital Downloads?
they are media files protected in a fashion similar to iTunes that require unlocking to gain a legal digital copy of the CD version of music albums or lecture series. Unlocking the files requires the purchase of credits
How does it work?
When you play a lecture or song, you will be prompted to sign in to your credits account. Once successfully signed in, you'll be prompted to spend a certain amount of credits to unlock the file. By unlocking the file you become an owner of a legal copy of the media file, which gives you the right to play the file an unlimited number of times, in addition to the ability to burn it to a regular CD. You can buy the number of credits you wish from our Digital Downloads section on our online shop.
What are credits?
Credits are similar to tickets or tokens you'd use at an arcade shop. Each dollar buys you a certain amount of credits that you can use or redeem towards unlocking a media file.
Why use credits?
1. to simplify your experience; you need only place one order to unlock many or all media files. Imagine you wanted to buy 100 songs. Using credits, you can buy enough to unlock all songs in one order. Without using credits, you'd need to place 100 orders.
2. You can easily add more credits in the future to unlock more media files.
Do credits expire?
No.
Why do I have to pay for these lectures or songs?
Because they are copyright-protected by the publisher.
Does jannah.com have the legal right to allow downloading of this copyright media?
Yes. We have on file legal agreements with the copyright owners to allow downloads.
I'm a first time credit buyer. What should I do?
Simply place an order on our online shop under Digital Downloads. Once your order is processed successfully, your credit account is created. You would get an email with your user account and password along with instructions on using the credits. Whenever you want to add more credits to your account, simply buy more.
I'm a returning credit buyer. Any special instructions?
Simply place an order as usual. Once your order is processed successfully, the credits you bought will be added to your account. You will get a confirmation email along with instructions on using the credits.
System requirements
* A PC running a Windows operating system; Supported operating systems are: Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003. We do not guarantee the media files to work on a Mac or other operating systems.
* Windows Media Player version 7 or higher; Other equivalent software (such as Winamp, RealPlayer) might be used but is not supported, and is used at your own risk. We highly recommend the usage of Windows Media Player only.
* (optional) CD-burning software; To burn the media files: (not required if you do not plan to burn the media onto regular CDs) you will need a CD-burning software that's able to read protected media and integrates with Windows Media Player. We recommend using Nero Express version 6 or higher. Other CD-burning software might be used, but we do not have a comprehensive list, nor have we done testing with.
What do I get when I unlock the file
You become a legal owner of a copy of the media file. It's similar to owning the physical CD except that it is in digital format. You will be able to play the media file on your computer an unlimited number of times. You will also be able to burn the media file unto a regular CD.
What are the limitations
You can play the media file and burn it only from the computer on which the media file was unlocked. Moving the media file to another computer will prompt you to unlock it again.
What are the legal restrictions to my usage of the protected media?
* You cannot reverse-engineer the protection used; Reverse engineering violates the EULA and subjects the person to fines and imprisonments under US and international copyright laws
* Sharing restriction; If you re-produce the unprotected media file into other formats (such as MP3), you are not permitted to share it with others using any medium; physical (such as CDs), digital (through the internet, P2P networks, or any other delivery method). All the media files under digital downloads are copyright their publishers. Sharing the media files in violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 is subject to up to $1,000,000 in fines and up to 10 years imprisonment.
